New Home Sweet Foster Home

Boy, things have changed for me the past few weeks! I miss my family where I had my own kids in addition to dogs to play with. My new foster home is OK but I miss cuddling with the family. My new foster mom leaves us every day to go "to work." We do have a nice neighbor lady who comes most afternoons to let us out to stretch, run, and get some petting.

I add a great time for the past two weeks when "Pearl" showed up! She is a little smaller than me and she LOVES to play just like I do so we had FUN. We ran, romped, rassled, and we even got to dig holes and play in some mud, after the rain. See Pearl here....

My foster mom found her original home, so now she is back where she belongs.

I am back to playing with my friend Faith, another deaf Aussie just about my size and our hero, Foster the foster. I am getting along pretty well with everyone here. Soon, I will visit the eye doctor to learn more about how well I can see!

Cool Cat

video

Indy comes to school to pick up the kids with us most days. Perhaps his deafness works for him here, as he does not get overly excited. He is very calm, doesn't mind the attention from the kids (of which he gets plenty), and just sits here and watches them. We have even gone to Petco recently were there was a preschool class tour. He was unphased. In fact, as they sat at the door, doing a headcount, and we checked out he was one cool cat. He just laid down on the floor next to me, just watching the children. Maybe it felt more like his foster home?

He greeted several dogs at Petco and was a friendly guy. He was calm, and walked great on a leash. I only wish my own dogs were so easy! He sniffed the dogs through the glass playroom wall.

Here is also a picture of Indy hanging out with Rowan in the bedroom, as he often does. If he can't be with me, he is with her.

Finally, a video, with someone's annoying voice. :) I was ironing and Indy, my shadow, insisted on being ON my feet.

Sick Puppy

Well, the puppy isn't sick, but the child was. Yet another cute shot of Indy and his girl cuddling on the couch. She was sick, and he was there to comfort her, and share the blanket.

Punctual Pooch

Another lazy, Sunday morning picture.

Indy is very into our routines. Every morning we wake up at 6:50am to get ready for school. However, on mornings where we don't have school he wakes up at 6:50 am anyway, ready to start the day. Fortunately, he doesn't mind hanging out, in the backyard while we sleep in a little bit.

Then the second I am downstairs, and get near his food bowl, he rushes to his crate and waits inside it patiently to be fed. When we go upstairs at night, he goes straight into his crate, to await his petting, and then go to sleep. He also goes to the door in the afternoons now to pick up the kids from school, and gets right in the van, and goes right to the front door when we get home. He is on auto-puppy-pilot.
